Supporting the strategic vision and highest priorities of QMS.
Queen Margaret’s School is more than a place of learning. It is a community dedicated to developing confident, capable, and compassionate young people. Philanthropy makes that possible.
Tuition keeps QMS running. Philanthropy helps QMS thrive. Gifts of every size enrich our programs, widen access through financial assistance, and give us the freedom to innovate beyond what tuition alone allows. Participation is what sustains an independent school community — and as a registered charity, every eligible gift comes with a charitable tax receipt.
Like most independent schools, Queen Margaret’s School is a registered charity in Canada. Philanthropic support bridges the gap between tuition revenue and the true cost of delivering an exceptional educational experience.

Every gift counts. Every donor matters.
When families come together to give at a level meaningful to them, it reflects the strength of our community and helps unlock even greater
opportunities for our students.
Absolutely. Participation matters as much as the amount. When many families give at a level that is meaningful to them, it demonstrates a strong, united community. High participation rates also strengthen the school’s ability to attract leadership gifts and grants. Every gift counts. Every donor matters.
Philanthropy enhances the experience of every student. Whether through updated facilities, enriched arts programming, expanded athletic opportunities, or expanding diversity through financial aid, donor generosity ensures that students benefit from opportunities that tuition alone cannot provide.
A diverse and inclusive community enriches learning for everyone. Philanthropic support for financial aid ensures that talented and promising students can attend Queen Margaret’s regardless of financial circumstances. This strengthens the entire community and reflects the school’s values.
The Annual Fund supports immediate priorities and enhances the current student experience each year. Capital gifts support long-term projects such as new facilities, major renovations, or endowment growth to ensure the school’s future sustainability.
Current and past parents, alumni, grandparents, faculty, staff, and friends of QMS all play a role. A thriving culture of philanthropy is built on shared belief in the school’s mission and a desire to strengthen it for today’s students and future generations.
As a registered charity, QMS is governed by a Board of Governors and is committed to transparency and responsible stewardship. Each year our finances are audited by an independent accounting firm who adhere to CRA guidelines.
Yes. Donors may choose to support areas meaningful to them or give to the school’s greatest need, allowing leadership to respond to emerging opportunities.
Philanthropy shapes the future of our school. It strengthens programs, supports innovation, preserves campus beauty, and ensures long-term sustainability. Most importantly, it transforms the lives of students who will go on to make meaningful contributions to their communities.
Queen Margaret’s School is a registered charity (Charitable Registration #107868135RR0001). All gifts over $20 in value are considered tax deductible and will be issued a receipt.
