School Horse Programs

Our Rookie Rider and Learn to Ride (LTR) Programs are designed to introduce beginners to the fundamentals of safe riding and horsemanship, providing a solid foundation for students with little to no riding experience.

For those looking to further develop their abilities, our Royal Riders Program offers a comprehensive approach, helping riders refine their skills both in the saddle and in the stable, while also deepening their knowledge through classroom instruction.

Riders enjoy cohesive equestrian and academic programming:

  • Students are matched with a QMS school horse of the appropriate level and temperament
  • Lessons ranging from Beginner to Equestrian Canada Rider Level Six (.85m)
  • Students ride once or twice per week, depending on the program
  • Half Lease Options available for dedicated riders

We also offer extra-curricular equestrian opportunities to QMS riders:

  • Clinics focus on skill development for riders of all levels
  • On-campus horse shows
  • Off-campus horse shows as a member of the IEA Team
  • Opportunities to compete at the local level
  • Co-curricular and service opportunities at the Equestrian Learning Centre
