QMS students are counseled to think beyond graduation and are supported in their research, preparation and application for post-secondary by a team of professionals that includes Post-Secondary Counsellors, a Faculty Advisor and subject area teachers.
The Post-Secondary Counselling Office works closely with students to ensure that BC Ministry of Education requirements for graduation are met. Starting in Grade 10, students will meet individually with a Post-Secondary Counsellor to research and discuss options for their post-secondary education. We also provide assistance for TOEFL, SAT, IELTS and other exams that may be required for post-secondary entrance.
Students’ post-secondary guidance teams help with research, filling out applications, applying for scholarships, writing reference letters, sending transcripts, and interviewing techniques. The Post-Secondary Counselling Centre also hosts post-secondary presentations and seminars, sponsors exploratory field trips to post-secondary schools in BC and arranges trips to University Fairs and Portfolio Days.
