Three-peat at BC Championships

By Nick Zuback, Coach

What an outstanding weekend at the BCSS Provincial Championships! The QMS Wrestling Team delivered an impressive performance, bringing 15 athletes to compete in the province’s largest high school wrestling tournament, with over 800 wrestlers competing.

We are incredibly proud of all our QMS wrestlers for the way they competed and represented our school, with determination, resilience, and sportsmanship, regardless of the outcome of each match.

The QMS Boys Team placed 5th overall out of 155 schools, earning the distinction of being the top-performing school from Vancouver Island.

A highlight of the weekend was Brayden Z.’s (’28) remarkable run to gold. Competing in the 51kg division, Brayden was focused and composed in every match. In a storybook finish, he faced his season-long rival in the finals, with their head-to-head record tied at 2–2. In a thrilling bout, Brayden secured a narrow 10–9 victory to claim his third Provincial gold medal.

Provincial Results:
Gold (51kg): Brayden Z.
4th Place: Mikaila E. (’30), Emma G. (’26), James H. (’30), Alexander H. (’30), Daniela B. (’30) in (Onni)
