Over the first week of Spring Break, Mrs. Draper accompanied four students on an exchange with Tsinghua University High School (TUHS) in Beijing.
Over the course of ten days, the students were immersed in a wide range of meaningful and memorable experiences.
Their long-awaited reunion with their buddies was both joyful and heartwarming. The students spent the weekends with their host families, taking part in a variety of activities such as visiting museums, seeing pandas, exploring an art studio, going to the ballet and enjoying time at amusement parks.
A thoughtfully planned schedule during the week, organized by TUHS, provided students with the opportunity to experience classes within a Chinese school and visit many iconic cultural landmarks.
Highlights included the Summer Palace, the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, Qianmen Street, a calligraphy class, and the Lama Temple, where students were excited to receive a banana from Buddha.
Students returned home with a deeper appreciation for a different culture, enriched by incredible food, shared experiences, and new perspectives. These moments not only built global awareness but also created lasting memories and friendships that will endure.
Tsinghua students are already looking forward to next year’s exchange, during which they will visit QMS. If you would like more information, please contact Rowena Jones or speak with Mrs. Draper.
