The QMS Senior Girls Soccer team delivered a historic performance at the BC Championships, earning the highest provincial finish in program history with a top-six result.
The Royals opened the tournament with a 2–0 win over Purcell Collegiate, with goals from Honey W. (’27) and Dany A-B. (’30). After a hard-fought match against a strong Aberdeen Hall squad, the team rebounded with an impressive 3–1 victory over Kelowna Christian, led by two goals from Jessica T. (’27) and another from Honey to place them second in their pool.
Advancing to the playoff round, the Royals defeated David Thompson 2–0 to secure their place among the province’s top teams. Goals from Lola W. (’27) and Jessica proved the difference in a confident team performance.
In their final match, the Royals faced Island champions St. Margaret’s School. Despite a 4–0 result, the team showed tremendous resilience, competing hard throughout and creating several scoring opportunities against one of the province’s top programs.
Throughout the championship, the Royals represented QMS with pride, determination, and sportsmanship. Special recognition goes to graduating players Kaylela H. (’26), whose leadership and defensive play were instrumental all season, and Nina S. (’26), who was named to the Provincial Super 16 Tournament All-Star Team.
This remarkable group exceeded expectations, created lasting memories, and set a new standard for future QMS soccer teams.
