On Tuesday, February 24, QMS proudly hosted the 10th Annual Cowichan Valley Wrestling Playdown, welcoming over 170 athletes from 22 schools across Vancouver Island. The tournament featured competitors from Grades 2–7 and ran seamlessly from start to finish across six wrestling mats, showcasing the strength and growth of youth wrestling in the region.
QMS delivered an outstanding performance, finishing first overall in the team standings. The event continues to stand out as a marquee competition in the valley, highlighting both the skill and enthusiasm of young wrestlers. “It was incredible to see so many students participating and competing with such energy and sportsmanship,” said coach Zuback.
The success of the tournament would not have been possible without the support of the local wrestling community. Special thanks go to the high school wrestlers who volunteered their time to officiate, keep score, and coach throughout the day. Appreciation is also extended to the Cowichan Valley Wrestling Club for their organization and continued commitment to growing the sport.
Congratulations to all of the athletes who competed and contributed to such a memorable event.
