After an exciting North Islands, the Royals headed to Victoria for the AA Island Championships hosted at Lambrick Park.
Our first game pitted us against the top-seeded hosts, Lambrick Park. They came out flying, and the Royals had to dig deep and find a new gear. Despite the lopsided score, our girls kept their spirits high and the bench energy even higher! Their hard-nosed defence and tenacity made them a tough team to play against from start to finish.
Baller of the Day was Evlyn K. (‘27) – for her relentless defence, speed, and ability to make a difference at every turn.
Game two was a win-or-go-home matchup against Parkland Secondary. The Royals delivered in a nail-biter that went down to the final moments clinching a 64-61 victory! Special shoutout to Sadie W. (‘26) for her fourth-quarter free throws that sealed the victory, calm under pressure and a joy to watch.
Baller of the Day was Lois M. (‘26) – for her growth, perseverance, and unwavering effort on the court.
Riding that momentum into Saturday, the Royals faced North Island opponents GISS. The first half saw the team shaking off their final trip over the Malahat, but the girls rallied in the second half for a beautiful, hard-fought performance.
Baller of the Day was Zoe M. (‘26) – for incredible leadership both on and off the court.
Coaches are beyond proud of the Royals for their grit, determination, and dedication throughout the season. Every player contributed, and every player left it all on the court. What a season!
