Royals Field Hockey Building Momentum

The Senior Field Hockey team has made a strong start to the season, building confidence and chemistry with each game.

The team opened the season at the Friendship Cup with a 0–0 draw against South Kamloops and a narrow 0–1 loss to SOSS. They also put in strong performances against provincial powerhouses Handsworth and Shawnigan Lake School, showing they can compete with some of the province’s strongest teams.

At the John Ferreira Memorial, the team continued to build on that momentum with strong performances against SMU, Shawnigan Lake School and Brentwood, before finishing the tournament with an exciting 0–0 battle against Port Alberni.

Throughout both tournaments, the team showcased strong possession, teamwork and relentless pressure, creating penalty corners, driving the net and demonstrating impressive individual and team skills.

With plenty of season still ahead, the team will take some time to rest and recharge before preparing for the North Island Championships on October 16–17.
