The first day of the Island Championships brought tough competition, with the girls facing several strong teams. Despite the challenge, the squad battled hard throughout the day, finishing with one win and two hard-fought losses while continuing to grow together as a team.
On the second day, the girls truly found their rhythm and played outstanding rugby, winning both of their matches. Their defensive effort was exceptional, highlighted by several big hits and incredible try-saving tackles.
Offensively, the team moved the ball beautifully across the field, creating some fantastic opportunities on the wing that led to several speedy tries. The girls also demonstrated excellent technical skill with quick offloads and smart pops off the ground — fast-paced decisions that kept the play moving and put pressure on their opponents.
Most importantly, the team supported one another every step of the way. Players consistently linked up on both offence and defence, picking each other up after every play and showing what it means to compete as a tightly connected team. Both our veteran players and rookies represented QMS with pride, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
Finishing 5th overall on the Island is a tremendous accomplishment, and the girls should be very proud of the growth, teamwork, and resilience they demonstrated this season.
