QMS IEA Team Reaches New Heights

Congratulations to the QMS IEA Team on an outstanding performance at the Zone Finals in Sherwood, Oregon. As Canada’s only IEA team, our riders proudly represented both QMS and our country on the international equestrian stage.

Day 1 saw a strong start from our Royals during the individual rider competition. Julie W-S. (’28) delivered beautiful rides in both the flat (on Silas) and over fences (on Deluca) to earn 4th place in each class. Hannah B-S. (’27) rode smoothly on Leo to earn a solid 5th place, while Neva C. (’29) put in a lovely effort over fences, finishing just outside the ribbons.

On Day 2, the team returned to the ring with confidence and determination. Julie opened the morning with a superb ride on Crush to earn 3rd in the Varsity Open Flat. Rowan P. (’27) followed with a strong performance on Otis, placing 5th in a competitive Varsity Intermediate class. When the jumps were set, Julie showcased exceptional equitation to capture 1st place over fences on Silas, a thrilling highlight for our team!

Hannah continued the momentum with a beautiful round on Tucker to place 3rd in the Varsity Intermediate 2′. Maeve S. (’26) then stepped up to earn 6th in cross-rails on Freedom and 5th on the flat with Henry. Charlotte P-L. (’28) showcased her skills on a poised ride on Tory to earn 4th in her WTC round and complete our team’s performance.

When the final scores were tallied, QMS was announced as the 3rd place Varsity team overall – our best IEA Zone Finals result to date!

Congratulations to all of our riders and to Coach Indiana Wynne-Smith for leading the team with dedication and heart. We are so proud of how everyone represented QMS with grace, teamwork, and outstanding horsemanship. The excitement for the 2026–2027 season is already building!
