QMS Equestrian Icon Honoured

Last week, we were honoured to host a lifetime achievement award for a true QMS trailblazer, Ms. Shirley Burr.
The award, presented by Claire Vessey, Zone Representative of Horse Council BC, recognizes Ms. Burr’s incredible lifetime exemplifying and perpetuating excellence in equestrian education around the globe.
Friends, neighbours, QMS alumni and industry professionals from across the province gathered for the event in our Shirley Burr Equestrian Centre, an homage to the lady largely responsible for the QMS equestrian program as we know it today. QMS Head of School, Ander Monro, Head Coach of Equestrian Competition, Julia Spreen-Balcom, former Head Coach, Norah Ross, and Director of Equestrian, Angie Dobbie were all on hand to present Ms. Burr with a few gifts on behalf of our School and make a formal toast to her accomplishments.
We are so thankful to Ms. Burr for the equestrian legacy she created at QMS and forging the path ahead for so many following in her footsteps! To read more about Ms. Shirley Burr’s journey, visit:
