Our first Model UN conference of the year is in the books!
On Saturday, QMS students were up before sunrise to travel to Glenlyon Norfolk School for GMUN, where they took part in three engaging committees. Markus L. (’30)- Representing Singapore, joined the Social, Cultural and Humanitarian Committee (SOCHUM) to debate child marriage.
Maxwell G. (’30) – Representing Saudi Arabia, took part in the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, addressing Latin American drug trafficking while Charlotte I. (’29), Saoirse Mc. (‘28), and Victoria B. (’28) stepped back in time with the Historical Crisis Committee, taking on roles from the Salem Witch Trials.
From posing motions and voting on resolutions to bringing dramatic flair to historical debates, our delegates showed impressive confidence and creativity throughout nearly seven hours of discussion.
We are so proud of all our participants—Markus, in his first-ever MUN, Maxwell, our youngest delegate, Saoirse for her dynamic performance, Victoria for her strong defense, and Char for winning Best Research in her committee!
