Debating at Island MUN

By Sharon Faber, Humanities Teacher

A small but mighty QMS delegation represented our school at Island MUN, hosted by Brentwood on October 29.

Our students took on impressive roles as delegates and dais chairs—giving speeches, building alliances, and drafting resolutions to tackle both real-world challenges and mythological debates!

Highlights included:
• Maxwell G. (‘31) representing China, and Victoria B. (‘28) serving as dais chair for the UNODC Committee
• Johan K. (‘28) debating as Washington Nationals’ Mark Lerner, alongside Supriya P. (‘28) on dais in the MLB (yes—Baseball!) Committee
• Saoirse M. (‘28) fearlessly chairing the COPU-Outer Space Committee
• Charlotte I. (‘29) embodying Goddess Demeter and Aliza L-G. (‘29) channeling God Ares in the Olympian Council

Our delegates made a lasting impression, with Johan, Maxwell, Supriya, Saoirse, and Victoria earning recognition for their outstanding work and leadership.
