Building Bridges Across the Pacific

By Hayley Picard, Director of Communications & Marketing

On October 15, Head of School, Ander Monro, and Director of Admissions, Harriet Klumper, proudly represented Queen Margaret’s School at the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo, where they signed a formal Memorandum of Understanding with Kichijo Girls’ School and Kanto Daiichi High School.

This milestone celebrates over 25 years of partnership between QMS and Kichijo Girls’ School, while marking the beginning of an exciting new collaboration with Kanto Daiichi High School. Together, these three schools—connected through the shared legacy of Susabio Moriya—will create expanded opportunities for international exchange, global learning, and cross-cultural understanding between Japan and Canada.

Following the signing, guests were treated to a tour of the beautiful Canadian Embassy in the heart of Tokyo, a fitting setting to celebrate this moment of international friendship and shared educational purpose.
