Celebrating our Royals

As the spring season comes to a close, we celebrate the dedication, perseverance, and team spirit demonstrated by our student-athletes across QMS. From the courts and fields to the trails and arenas, our Royals embraced the challenges of competition, supported one another, and represented QMS well.

The Spring Athletic Awards recognize students who made outstanding contributions to their teams through skill, commitment, improvement, leadership, and sportsmanship.

On the tennis courts, Cosmo M. (’29) was recognized as the Boys Tennis Most Improved Player, while Marcelo B. (’29) earned Most Valuable Player honours. For Girls Tennis, Amelie C. (’28) was named Most Improved Player, Ella A. (’28) received Most Valuable Player recognition, and Molly W. (’28) was celebrated with the Spirit Award.

In badminton, Jacob C. (’29) was recognized as Boys Badminton Most Improved Player, with Leo L. (’26) earning Most Valuable Player and Levi W. (’29) receiving the Spirit Award. On the Girls Badminton team, Wendy C. (’26) was named Most Improved Player, Hikaru H. (’26) earned Most Valuable Player, and Olivia W. (’27) received the Spirit Award.

Our Track and Field athletes continued to impress throughout the season. In Grade 8 Track and Field, Arabella D. (’30) was named Most Improved Player and James H. (’30) earned Most Valuable Player. For Junior Track and Field, Matthew G. (’28) received Most Improved Player and Joeffrey T. (’29) was named Most Valuable Player. In Senior Track and Field, Honey W. (’27) earned Most Improved Player and Jessica T. (’27) was recognized as Most Valuable Player. The overall Track and Field Spirit Award went to Cohen B. (’28).

The Mountain Bike team celebrated Tiller B. (’28) as Most Improved Player, Hector M. (’28) as Most Valuable Player, and Raymond C. (’28) with the Spirit Award.

On the rugby pitch, Junior Boys Rugby recognized Shanoah P. (’28) as Most Improved Player, Julian L. (’28) as Most Valuable Player, and Emiliano S. (’28) with the Spirit Award. Senior Boys Rugby honoured Hunter N. (’27) as Most Improved Player, Freddie T. (’27) as Most Valuable Player, and Jacob M. (’26) with the Spirit Award. Senior Girls Rugby celebrated Aitana S. (’29) as Most Improved Player, Layla W. (’26) as Most Valuable Player, and Zoe M. (’26) and Sedona B. (’26) as Spirit Award recipients.

The Golf team recognized Hugh S. (’26) as Most Improved Player, Marcelo B. (’29) as Most Valuable Player, and Maxi S. (’28) with the Spirit Award.

Our Equestrian athletes were also celebrated for their achievements and dedication throughout the season. Award recipients included Neva C. (’30, Vernon Trophy), Briar C. (’28, Dunlop Trophy), Oliver B. (’26, Burton Trophy), Halle P. (’27, Most Valuable Rider), Poppy G.-C. (’27, Most Improved Rider), Maeve S. (’26, Woodward Classical Dressage Award), and Adele B. (’30, Equestrian Spirit Award).

On the soccer pitch, Junior Girls Soccer recognized Sophia P. (’30) as Most Improved Player, Katie S. (’28) as Most Valuable Player, Anna C. (’28) with the Spirit Award, and Dany A-B. (’30) with the Golden Boot. Senior Girls Soccer celebrated Emma B. (’27) as Most Improved Player, Kaylela H. (’26) as Most Valuable Player, Lola W. (’27) with the Spirit Award, and Honey W. (’27) with the Golden Boot.

In addition to team awards, we also celebrated our athletic captains, graduating athletes and students who demonstrated exceptional commitment, excellence, and dedication to athletics through the presentation of Athletic Ties. Nominated by coaches, these awards recognize athletes who consistently embody the values of hard work, leadership, and sportsmanship.

Congratulations to our Single Stripe Tie recipients: Rowan P. (’27), Honey W. (’27), Lola W. (’27), Freddie T. (’27), and Isabella D. (’27).
Our Double Stripe Tie recipients are Darren L. (’26), Emma G. (’26), and Sedona B. (’26).

Congratulations to all of our Spring Athletic Award recipients and to every student-athlete who contributed to an incredible season. Your commitment, teamwork, and passion for sport continue to strengthen the QMS athletics community. We are proud of the way our Royals compete, support one another, and represent our school.
