The Senior School at QMS is a student-centred learning environment that values academic and personal excellence. Our philosophy is to guide students to be resilient, innovative, and solution-focused learners who ask thought-provoking questions and challenge assumptions.
In the Senior School, students are guided by passionate subject specialists in areas such as Science, Mathematics, English, and Social Studies. Each class is an opportunity to build deeper understanding, strengthen academic foundations, and form meaningful connections with multiple teachers who support and challenge students along the way.
At the same time, the spirit of Project-Based Learning continues to shape every classroom experience. Rather than standing apart, inquiry-driven learning is thoughtfully woven into each subject—empowering students to explore real-world questions, collaborate with peers, and bring their ideas to life through authentic, creative projects.
This approach is strengthened by our exceptional team of educators. The teachers who built and led our Project-Based Learning program remain an integral part of the Senior School, bringing their expertise in inquiry, collaboration, and student voice into every classroom. Their presence ensures that innovation and engagement remain at the heart of learning.
The result is a dynamic learning environment. One that blends the structure and rigor of a traditional academic model with the creativity and engagement of project-based learning. Students leave not only with strong academic skills, but with the confidence and curiosity to explore big ideas and shape their own path forward.

At QMS, we believe there is no single path to success—only the one that is right for each student. Whether graduates choose university, college, the trades, a GAP year, entrepreneurship, or a more personalized journey, they leave QMS with the confidence, clarity, and support to move forward with purpose.
From Grade 10 onward, students are guided by a dedicated team that includes Post-Secondary Counsellors, Faculty Advisors, and subject teachers who know them well. Together, they help students explore possibilities, ask meaningful questions, and make informed decisions about life after QMS.
Through one-on-one meetings, students receive personalized support as they research programs, plan their courses, and prepare for next steps. Our team ensures graduation requirements are met while also helping students navigate applications, scholarships, and interviews. For those pursuing international pathways, we provide guidance and preparation for exams such as TOEFL, SAT, and IELTS.
Beyond the classroom, students are introduced to a wide range of opportunities through university visits, guest speakers, portfolio days, and trips to post-secondary campuses across British Columbia. These experiences open doors, spark ideas, and help students envision what their future could look like.
Wherever their path leads, QMS students graduate ready—not only with strong academic preparation, but with the self-awareness and courage to pursue a future that reflects who they are and who they are becoming.
In addition to our wide-range of Athletics in the Senior School, on any given day at QMS students immerse themselves after school in co-curricular opportunities, that allow them to continue to define their own QMS Journey.
The opportunities are created in conjunction with student interest and staff expertise and therefore can grow and shift based on demand. See below for a list of the Fine Arts & Citizenship opportunities that our students participated in for the 2025–2026 school year.
