Family Homestay Program

Some students and their families prefer the immersive nature of a homestay program to experience life as a young learner in Canada.

These students are eager to take advantage of improving their English and discover new horizons with a Cowichan Valley host family while attending Queen Margaret’s School. It’s more than just food and lodging, a family immersion is a great way to deeply explore the culture of a country and become bilingual.

About the program

The Queen Margaret’s School Family Homestay Program includes:

  • room and board with a separate bedroom in a family setting
  • transportation to/from school by your host family
  • tuition for one academic year
  • health coverage for the duration of the academic year
  • custodianship services via ISGC

Day trips and larger excursions and activities such as ski trips, out of province/country travel, etc. are not covered within the program fees yet can be easily discussed with the Cowichan host family you have been paired with.

This program has limited space and we screen students and host families carefully to ensure the best match possible. For further details, connect with the Admissions Office at
