From working with nobility in Ireland and the Royal Family in England to shaping Queen Margaret’s School’s renowned Equestrian Program, we are proud to honour Shirley Burr.

Shirley’s extraordinary career spans decades—from serving as a groom for the English Olympic Team in 1956 to joining QMS in 1961, where her role evolved from riding instructor to Head of the Equestrian Program. For more than 35 years at QMS, her disciplined, high-level instruction and vision guided a period of remarkable growth, leaving a national legacy and laying the foundation for our Equestrian Marquee Program.

We invite our community to join us for a special afternoon as the Horse Council of BC presents Shirley Burr with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
