QMS Host Family Information Session

We invite you to attend a QMS Host Family Information Session on September 26, 2022 at 6:00pm on-campus in the TLC Multipurpose Room.

Queen Margaret’s School is excited to be hosting students from the Saku Chosei High School Grade 9 class in Nagano, Japan between December 7–15, 2022.

The purpose of their visit is to explore Vancouver Island and immerse themselves in Canadian culture and language. Saku Chosei High School students will be studying English in the mornings and visiting tourist attractions and engaging in fun activities in the afternoon, during the school week.

We are looking for families who would be interested in hosting one or more of these students during their stay of eight nights, nine days. Host Families will be provided with student profiles, including names, dates of birth, hobbies, interests and allergy information.

Host Families are expected to welcome students into their homes as family members and:

• Provide students with three (3) daily meals:

Breakfast – cereal and milk, toast, juice, etc.

Lunch – packed lunch and snack on weekdays, lunch with your family on the weekend

Dinner – with your family

• Over the weekend, include these guests in all family outings or activities such as movies, bowling, hikes, swimming, etc.
• Provide a bed with linens and a shared bathroom with basic toiletries
• Host families will be provided a stipend to cover the cost of room and board

This is an exciting opportunity for our families and these young travellers to exchange culture, language and experiences. Don’t miss out!
