Unleash Creativity at QMS: Where Fine Arts Thrive!
At Queen Margaret School, we believe in the power of the arts to ignite creativity, inspire self-expression, and nurture well-rounded individuals. From music and drama to visual arts, our Fine Arts program is woven into every grade, encouraging students to explore and develop their artistic talents. Whether it’s performing on stage, creating beautiful works of art, or making music, our students have endless opportunities to express themselves and build confidence.
We’re proud to showcase their incredible talents both on and off-campus through vibrant concerts, exciting assemblies and dynamic festivals. The arts are alive and thriving at QMS, and we can’t wait for you to see the magic our students create!
Senior students can explore self-expression through art, drama, film, choir, band and string orchestra at QMS.
Specialist teachers in fine arts encourage Senior School students to hone their skills and create or perform with confidence. Students may also take private lessons to study a musical instrument or voice.
An optional Advanced Placement (AP) Studio Art program allows preparation for entry into domestic and international schools of art, design, and architecture.
Musical and dramatic expression begin in the early years with an introduction to rhythm and tone, singing, role playing and stage presence. Optional private instrumental and vocal lessons are available on-campus beginning in Kindergarten, and students may study band instruments starting in Grade 5.
In the Intermediate grades, visual art classes are led by specialist teachers to cultivate students’ confidence as they explore the elements and principles of design, two- and three-dimensional materials, photography, and design software.
